The theme of the show was a fashionable journey from Then to Now and finally Forever. There were 20 Lakme Grand Finale designers who created a sensation with their creations. An interesting audio visual showed the Then of fashion from each designer who showed the evolution to now and finally show cased their visions of style as Forever.
2000 The Splash of Colors , 2001 Shimmer Shine and Sparkle, 2002 Brilliance, 2003 Treasures, 2004 Fruit Shock, 2004 Fireworks, 2005 Mosaic, 2005 Peppermint, 2006 Happy Hour, 2007 Freespirit, 2009 Bridal Sutra are the sub sections of the theme Lakme and IMG celebrate 10 years of fashion.
The 20 top creative talents, the best designers of India received a standing ovation from the audience as they took their bow at the end, for their contribution in guiding and pioneering the fashion in the country for a decade.
The enthralling journey of a decade of fashion was choreographed by Anu Ahuja. Each season the Lakme Fashion Week has presented outstanding fashion events. In March 2009 it was the Mai Mumbai show that brought together Indian and international designers, models and celebrities on the ramp. In 2009 it was "LAKME AND IMG CELEBRATE 10 YEARS OF FASHION'S PRESENTED BY SAMIRA HABITATS" which was another memorable show that will be remembered in the annals of fashion as one of the most magnificent presentations in India.
