FIFA has picked the best 11 players of the year and honoured them with the FIFA World XI award, which was presented for the first time at the 2009 FIFA World Player Gala in December at the Kongresshaus arena in Zurich.

The FIFA/FIFPro World XI is chosen by over 50,000 professional football players from all over the world, who have voted for the best player in each position.

Spanish players have dominated the list whilst European club champions Barca have four representatives with 2009 Ballon D'Or winner Messi occupying the left wing whilst their attacking Right-back Dani Alves is the only representative from the World No.1 ranked nation Brazil.

Manchester United have dominated defensively last season which reflects in the dream team as two of the back-four consist of the United defenders, Patrice Evra and Nemaja Vidic.

Another Red Devil Cristiano Ronaldo currently with Real Madrid forms a deadly attack partnership with his former Premier League colleague Fernando Torres who has been on a scintillating form for Liverpool.

English duo and Premiership skippers Steven Gerrard of Liverpool and John Terry of Chelsea slot in to complete the grid.

Don't post rude or nasty comments. Ethnic slurs, personal insults and abuses are rather uncool. Criticise, but know where to draw the line. No point putting in personal details or links, we won't publish them.
