In the opening Test of the 1912 Triangular Tournament, playing against South Africa at Old Trafford, Jimmy Matthews, a tough Aussie leg spinner created history for being the only player to have ever taken hat-trick in each innings of a Test match.
None of the dismissals required the assistance of any fielders: two were bowled, two were leg before wicket and two more caught and bowled!!!
